Safe and sound in Waskaganish

I'm so excited to back in Waskaganish! The last time I was here, they said, "we'll see you soon." That's what someone in my field likes to hear, it means I did a great job. That was 10 years ago, not to bad if I was living in dog years. All joking aside, I'm very happy to be back.

I am up for the "A Time For Hope Gathering." I will be MCing, entertaining, workshop facilitating, putting out the vibe and flexing my inner dragon. My job is simple, to be the energy guy for the conference. Energy is never in short supply with me, I'm like a walking coal power plant, always blowing hot air and sending smoke signals. As long as the air is coming out the right end, everyone should be fine.

Last year the confernce was coordinated in 5 days, after a few difficult deaths in the community. They wanted to bring the community together and acknowledge the loss and begin to move on together, it was a great success. I am honoured to be asked to be apart of such a important healing gathering. I'll be sure to treat this one like the others, extra special.

They have a great agenda, I'm looking forward to filling you all in on the week.

Stay Tuned...

The Youth Chief, Stacey Bear and I paying tribute to her ancestors by putting out the bear vibe. Check out our joining hands! It's like 2 hands becoming 1.

Rachel "the rabbit" Hester, Cathy "the cobra" Stevens and Stacey "the snake" Bear. We are all down at the site of the conference. check out those clouds in the backround, all three of the girls are praying for good weather. The back up plan is to use the Gathering Place, but they obviously want to be outside. I told them to pray for sunshine, and I guarantee, their prayers will be answered. It may not be the answer they are looking for, but it will be an answer nevertheless. And regardless what happens, just accept it and move on. Like my father says, "if things are out of our control, there's no sense getting to stressed out about it."

It's so refreshing to be around people that are so passionate about their work, they are so excited about the upcoming gathering. Rachel and Cathy and the rest of the 15 Youth Council members will all be volunteering at the conference.

Here I am with the worlds biggest pair of snowshoes. I may not be able to fit them, but surely my dragon could slip those on no problemo.
